学校简介
詹姆斯库克大学始建于1970年，位于澳大利亚昆士兰省汤斯维尔市，是澳大利亚最古老的两所学校之一，也是昆士兰第一所高等教育学府。该校除了提供学科上的研究、研究训练以及教学课程外，还在与热带地区有关的一些学术领域内有很强的实力。本校的研究吸引了大量外来基金，并与工业部门和政府互相协作。2008年，该大学是澳洲17所进入世界大学学术排名的前400的成员之一。至2012年，该校共有19643人，其中有5815人来自海外。
院系介绍
詹姆斯库克大学下设4个学院，分别是艺术、教育和社科学院，法律商业和创新艺术学院，医学、健康和分子科学院以及自然科学和工程学院。詹姆斯库克大学的热带生物科学专业在全球属于领先地位。受到全球认可的学科有海洋生物、沿海与环境科学、热带雨林、世界旅游业组织鉴定学会（WTO）、海洋考古学、公共卫生学. 其海洋学科是全球顶尖大学之一。

詹姆斯库克大学的热带生物科学专业在全球属于领先地位。它的硕士学位课程有许多独到之处，MBA 课程在澳大利亚具有相当声誉，并且环境保护、酒店管理、项目管理、医院管理等专业的硕士课程也为该校的强项，另外，詹姆斯库克大学还可以针对市场的需求量身订制新的硕士专业课程。作为顶尖的研究型大学，詹姆斯库克大学每年获得的研究基金超过两千万澳元。詹姆斯库克大学拥有高素质的教师队伍。约有一半的教师拥有博士学位，而且有多位教师被公认为其学科领域内的带头人。
